Overview

Since 1989, Dr. Janet Lapp, Inc. has
been helping organizations improve productivity and performance. Our
clients have included Fortune 500 companies, major non-profits, government
offices, and high-growth entrepreneurial firms.
Our work is collaborative,
involving client personnel and resources, and transfer of skills to
the client. Engagements are usually completed within one to six months.
We work toward client business goals, using specific objectives with
clearly established timing and outcomes.
Our approach revolves around a simple idea: Exploiting existing resources
within the company, and drilling best practices down to the bottom
line to improve the client's condition.

One Vision,
One Culture
|
Our research has shown that most companies
experience a significant misfit between what executive leadership
and front-line staff believe is the corporate mission. Since the greatest
service variability occurs in human-to-human contact, systems and
messages must be consistent throughout the company. Inconsistency
destroys brand value. Leaders must require and measure front line
accountability for branded service excellence. Every department must
follow the same roadmap.
We examine your culture, from senior leadership to frontline, assessing
quality and accuracy of mission and vision transmission. We do this
by assessment of communications, from memos to meetings, confidential
interviews of representative members at each level and intense interviews
and assessments of top performers.
We have found that most companies do not capture the best practices
of top performers. This is too important to be left to chance. Our
goal is to grasp the senior leadership vision, establish best behavioural
practices of the top 1% of performers, calculate matches and discrepancies,
and develop drive-down vision and best practices for each level.
We establish a common vision from top management to the front line
and ensure systems, communications and processes match this vision.
Leadership Team Consulting is contracted on a quarterly
basis, and includes assessment of your leadership team, evaluation
of verbal and written communication, time analyses, and interaction
samples. Goals are to help your leadership team present more effectively
both individually and in meetings, use open and productive dialogue
among each other and with their reports, confront difficult issues
more directly, and increase energy toward goals. With the exception
of assessments and coaching time, while we are onsite, the leadership
team continues its regular work, does real planning and makes decisions;

At times, it might be necessary to go outside one’s own corporate
resources for assistance with personal change, yet a mental health
professional would not be appropriate. This highly confidential
program is suitable for executives, professionals, business owners,
and individual contributors working within an organizational
structure when there is a need for independent, objective coaching
on personal style or performance issues.
Goals are to enhance competence, performance, and image.
Suitable clients must accept feedback well, be willing to change
behaviour or think about issues in a new context, be results-oriented
and pragmatic, need assistance with specific issues or with
long-term plans, or need a sounding board concerning current
behaviours and performance.
