More trainees at LAPP

Stuttgart-based family business assumes social responsibility

31 new trainees started at LAPP

Stuttgart, September 6, 2022 - Training at LAPP enjoys a good reputation among young people. Despite a shortage of trainees in many industries, all positions at LAPP could be filled in this training year. With 31 new trainees, there are even five more than last year.

“We want to train our future employees ourselves as far as possible. This is an important instrument for securing the next generation of employees. I also see training as a social responsibility that we are happy to take on,” emphasizes Matthias Lapp, CEO of U.I. Lapp GmbH.

The training portfolio of the world market leader for integrated solutions in the field of cable and connection technology includes not only the “classic” training paths such as warehouse logistics specialist (m/f/d), mechatronics technician (m/f/d) or industrial clerk (m/f/d) as well as the dual courses of study, such as business administration-industry and industrial engineering/electrical engineering, but also, in particular, job profiles related to digitalization. For example, IT specialist (m/f/d) specializing in digital networking or business administration-digital commerce management.

Start with an introductory week

The training at LAPP began on September 5 with a one-week introduction, where the young career starters were introduced to the training content and the company LAPP. Afterwards, each* starts in his or her respective department. “The training program at LAPP is very versatile. The young people also appreciate that. And I am very pleased that due to the discontinuation of the predominant corona protection measures, many events and trainings, which unfortunately had to be cancelled in the past two years or were only possible digitally, can now be experienced live by them again,” says Anne Voigt, Head of Training at LAPP.

Versatile training program

The program includes, for example, regular training weeks, the trainees’ involvement in numerous events and projects, such as the organization of the annual LAPP anniversary celebration or events for children, such as the “Tinkerer and Researcher Day Baden-Württemberg”. They even work for LAPP at the Hanover Fair. Another important learning content is the assumption of social responsibility. All trainees therefore spend two weeks doing social work in an institution of their own choice. But also stays abroad are possible.

By the way: Currently, a total of 87 people are being trained at LAPP across all three training/study years.
