Employees & Society

Social commitment is not just a LAPP family tradition, but also a company tradition. We support a variety of social initiatives and organisations in the communities surrounding our company locations. Globalisation and community spirit are not incompatible at LAPP: Since the very beginning, active involvement in social issues has been part of the corporate culture at our family-owned company – regardless of market changes, accompanying changes in strategy and structural adjustments.

Promoting social responsibility

LAPP has firmly anchored its social responsibility in its operating processes and corporate culture. We are committed to creating an environment that promotes ethical behaviour, social commitment and sustainable practices. By encouraging our employees to get involved in socially responsible activities, we want to bring about positive change both within our organisation and in our environment. Our goal is for 100 per cent of all LAPP companies to initiate a social project at least once a year.

Increasing cultural diversity and internationality

Diversity is a cornerstone of the success of LAPP. We utilise the diversity of cultural backgrounds, experiences and perspectives in our workforce to ensure our long-term success. For this reason, we are committed to creating an environment that values and promotes intercultural cooperation, communication and understanding. To support this, we offer training for managers on the topics of anti-discrimination, anti-bullying and anti-harassment in order to raise awareness of the issues.

Our aim is for at least 75 per cent of managers to be trained in these important areas.

Diversity Charter

LAPP is a signatory to the Diversity Charter, which promotes the recognition, appreciation and inclusion of diversity in the workplace. "Openness, tolerance and diversity have been part of our DNA since LAPP was founded over 60 years ago. Especially in current times, we need to stand up for these values and against xenophobia more than ever. As an employer, we also need to take a stand here," says Matthias Lapp.

LAPP stands firmly against racism and discrimination and in favour of an open world and society. We live in a world characterised by cultural diversity and global cooperation. Racism, discrimination and marginalisation have no place here. At LAPP, we are committed to diversity, tolerance and equality.

LAPP is made up of talented people from a wide variety of backgrounds who make an indispensable contribution to our joint success every day. As "One LAPP", our corporate culture is based on respect, openness and a firm commitment to social responsibility. Our diversity contributes to innovation and creativity and is a reflection of our global community.

We act according to our values. These values have always been an integral part of our DNA and are reflected in our value compass, which gives direction to our actions:

  • We address societal and social challenges.
  • We respect the human rights, values and standards in all cultures.
  • Our corporate culture is shaped respectful interaction with one another.
  • We encourage independent thinking and personal responsibility.
  • We constructively reflect on our actions and words.

Promoting mental health and well-being

At LAPP, the mental well-being of employees plays an important role. We are convinced that a healthy and supportive working environment is essential for both personal and professional success. To achieve this, we are committed to raising awareness, providing stress management resources and offering support services such as counselling. We promote a culture of openness and acceptance so that every team member feels valued and heard. By investing in mental health, we aim to increase the well-being, productivity and loyalty of our employees.

Our aim is to have trained mental health first aiders in every LAPP company.

All of these initiatives underline our commitment to a better, more inclusive and socially responsible workplace.
