A sustainably produced product requires appropriate processes and structures along the entire value chain. We want to use resources responsibly rather than simply consume them. We therefore develop product concepts for the more efficient utilisation of natural resources, for increasing the material efficiency of the product and for the environmentally friendly handling of chemicals and waste. These concepts will be implemented and integrated into our innovative portfolio in the long term.
Our products and solutions not only meet the highest quality standards, but also play a pioneering role in the area of sustainability. We measure and verify the environmental impact of our products as part of our commitment to reducing our ecological footprint. We are also progressive in our use of renewable resources.
We have set ourselves the goal of ensuring that all key product groups at LAPP have a product carbon footprint. Purchasing copper with lower CO₂ values is also being explored.
One way we reduce our CO₂ footprint is by using bio-based plastics. The ETHERLINE® FD P Cat.5e for Industrial Ethernet, for example, is the first Ethernet cable with a bio-based sheathing. Looking at the life cycle assessment, the product, whose outer sheath is based on renewable raw materials, reduces its CO₂ footprint by around 24 per cent.
Focus on sustainable industries
We are also focussing our portfolio on sustainable industries. Solar and wind energy help us to overcome the challenges relating to climate change. LAPP has taken on a leading role in this field in recent years and offers innovative solutions to cope with the energy transition.

Even in wind energy, the fastest growing market among renewable energies, LAPP meets the complex requirements and specific guidelines with extensive development and production experience spanning several decades.
In the field of electromobility, LAPP impresses with innovative solutions, offering infrastructure operators, charging station and vehicle manufacturers user-friendly charging cables for charging on the public grid and at household or industrial sockets. We want to make electromobility accessible to everyone.
In the huge growth market of rail transport, LAPP ensures safety and reliability with an extensive portfolio of system solutions that are specially tested and certified for railway technology.
