Highlights at the LAPP stand

LAPP at the SPS in Nuremberg - The Stuttgart-based cable manufacturer is once again bringing new highlights to the trade fair stand this year.

Stuttgart, 06 November 2024 - SPS 2024, the annual highlight for the automation industry, is just around the corner - and LAPP will be there. This year, the leading provider of integrated solutions and branded products in the field of cable and connection technology is bringing some highlight products and solutions for smart and digital automation to its stand in Hall 2, Stand 310.

Cables and connection solutions are needed everywhere. They are the literal lifelines of industry, in mechanical engineering and for control and automation technology. At the LAPP trade fair stand, users will be able to understand this particularly well with the new, interactive application model, which illustrates the applications and areas of use of LAPP connection solutions in the fields of renewable energies, direct current and intralogistics and allows them to immerse themselves in the topics. LAPP experts will be on hand at all times to assist visitors with technical discussions.

Another highlight at the LAPP stand this year will be the Harnessing Solutions area, LAPP's all-in-one solution for cable and servo assemblies as well as cable chains from a single source. Visitors can obtain information and advice on the interaction of all LAPP components. Users can also gain an insight into the entire range of LAPP solutions with all the services and products on offer.

Remote I/O devices from LAPP for the first time

New products from LAPP will also be on show at the trade fair: At the SPS, the Stuttgart-based company will be presenting remote I/O devices with IO-Link technology "Made in Germany" for the first time. These devices enable the decentralised acquisition and control of process data outside the control cabinet, ideal for applications such as conveyor systems. The use of IO-Link significantly reduces the wiring effort and enables bidirectional communication up to field level. The remote I/O devices from LAPP support several protocols such as PROFINET, EtherNET/IP and Modbus TCP and offer extended diagnostic options. Simple configuration is possible via a web interface and the I/O connection uses standard cables of up to 20 metres in length. IO-Link is significantly more cost-efficient than Ethernet.

There is also news in the LAPP brand EPIC®, as LAPP is expanding its connector portfolio with numerous innovations, also "Made in Germany". The redesign of the rectangular connector series H-B and H-A as well as new field-attachable data connectors such as the EPIC® DATA RJ45 Cat.6A and Cat.8.1 are at the centre of the innovations and will be presented for the first time at SPS 2024. New variants of the EPIC® SENSOR and POWER M12 chassis connector for sensor-actuator interfaces and three-phase motors will also be included. For the first time, LAPP is also launching battery connectors for energy storage systems that enable safe and efficient cabling.

Innovations and expert exchange in the LAPP futureLab

EPIC® connectors will also be represented in the futureLab, the hub for technology trends and innovations at the LAPP trade fair stand, as LAPP is presenting connector housings made from partially bio-based raw materials for the first time at SPS 2024 in Nuremberg. The EPIC® H-A 3 bio-based and the EPIC® H-Q TG bio-based offer the same technical properties as their fossil-based counterparts. Manufactured from a bio-plastic based on corn starch, they reduce the bound carbon by 35 %.

Other highlights in the futureLab this year are the topics of product carbon footprint (PCF) and additive manufacturing: LAPP has farsightedly started to determine the PCF of its own products, which is tested by DEKRA. At SPS, the company will be presenting the first verified PCFs for products from the ÖLFLEX® series. When it comes to the trend topic of additive manufacturing, LAPP combines customer benefits with a view to the future: Customised and tailor-made prototypes and solutions are created here overnight. Experts will be available for technical discussions and the exchange of ideas on these and all other trend and technology topics.

The LAPP team of experts at the trade fair stand will be joined this year for the first time by colleagues from the Human Resources department. They will provide information on career entry and the wide range of career opportunities at the Stuttgart-based cable manufacturer.
