More trainees at LAPP

Stuttgart-based family business takes on social responsibility

31 new trainees started at LAPP

Stuttgart, 6 September 2022 - Apprenticeships at LAPP have a great reputation among young people. Despite a shortage of trainees in many sectors, all training positions at LAPP were filled this year. With 31 new apprentices, we welcome five more than the previous year.

"We want to train our future employees ourselves. This is an important tool for securing junior staff. I also see training as a social responsibility that we are happy to take on," emphasises Matthias Lapp, CEO of U.I. Lapp GmbH.

The training portfolio of the world market leader for integrated solutions in the field of cable and connection technology includes not only the "classic" training programmes such as warehouse logistics specialist (m/f/d) mechatronics technician (m/f/d) or industrial clerk (m/f/d) as well as the dual study programmes such as business administration industrial engineering/electrical engineering, but also in particular job profiles related to digitalisation. For example IT specialist (m/f/d) specialising in digital networking or Business Administration-Digital Commerce Management.

Start with an introductory week

Training at LAPP began on 5 September with a one-week introduction where the young career starters were introduced to the training content and the company LAPP. Afterwards, everyone starts in their respective department. "The training programme at LAPP is very varied. Young people also appreciate this. And I am very pleased that due to the discontinuation of the corona protection measures, many events and training sessions that unfortunately had to be cancelled in the past two years or were only possible digitally, can now be experienced live again," says Anne Voigt, Head of Training at LAPP.

Versatile training programme

The programme includes, for example, regular training weeks, the participation of of trainees in numerous events and projects, such as the organisation of the annual LAPP anniversary celebration or events for children, such as the "Tinkerers' and Researchers' Day Baden-Württemberg". They are even in action at the Hannover Fair for LAPP. Another important learning content is the assumption of social responsibility. All trainees therefore do two weeks of social work in an organisation of their choice. But also stays abroad are also possible.

By the way: a total of 87 people are currently being trained at LAPP across all three training/study years.
