Background knowledge

Why do I need contacts for my connector?

The contact of a connector is used to establish an electrical connection. A distinction is made between non-detachable and detachable contacts. Detachable contacts can be opened and closed several times, whereas non-detachable contacts are generally only made once and remain closed throughout their service life.

Why do I need inserts for my Rectangular Connector?

The insert is an essential component of a rectangular connector, so to speak, its interior. Depending on the design, an insert carries the electric contacts or it contains contact holes to accommodate the contacts. LAPP offers inserts for various connection technologies as well as for special applications, such as rail transport.

Why do I need a housing for my industrial connector?

Rectangular connector housings protect the core of the rectangular connector, namely its inserts and contacts. They ensure that a rectangular connector is stable and resistant. This makes them ideal for industrial applications.
