LAPP eKanban is suitable for anyone who runs a warehouse with drummed cables (cable drum rack or paternoster) and no longer wants to rely on error-prone and manual cable inventory management. It can therefore be used in many different industries.
The eKanban sensor measures the rotation and speed of the cable drum during unwinding. Taking several parameters into account, the remaining quantity of cable on the drum is calculated and displayed in the digital cable rack (LAPP eKanban user interface). If the quantity falls below a safety stock level that you have previously defined, the system sends a notification to the user. This simplifies the planning and procurement process for your LAPP cables.
With LAPP eKanban, you benefit from more precise forecasting of your cable stock, can avoid production bottlenecks and organise your processes more efficiently and reliably across the board. LAPP eKanban enables the digital monitoring of stocks of almost all types of cables and wires. The system is not limited to LAPP products, but the RFID label attached to the cable drum in advance offers you the great advantage that the cable drums can be read automatically by the eKanban sensor. This installation step would otherwise have to be carried out manually.
To use LAPP eKanban, you pay a monthly rental fee for the required sensors and a one-off set-up fee. The exact amount of this fee depends on the number of sensors required and the specific requirements of your company. We will be happy to provide you with a customised quote. In addition to the IIoT gateway with an Internet connection via mobile radio and access to the browser-based eKanban user interface, you need as many sensors as you have cable drums in the cable rack at any one time. To use the system, you need an IIoT gateway with an internet connection, one eKanban sensor per cable drum and access to the browser-based eKanban user interface. As soon as you have been registered as an eKanban customer, you will receive an RFID label for each cable drum.
