Why Canadian Manufacturers Are Switching from TECK cables

In VFD motor systems, CMC can cause electrical noise, tripping devices, bearing pitting, and premature equipment wear. Traditional TECK and corrugated-armor cables allow CMC to return back to the VFD enclosure, resulting in electrical noise. 

ÖLFLEX® VFD 1XLC’s overall triple-layer foil and tinned-copper braid provide a low-impedance path for CMC to return to the VFD, avoiding the detrimental effect of CMC on the system. 

Canadian code typically demands conduit from tray to motor. The TC-ER rating of ÖLFLEX® VFD 1XLC eliminates that conduit requirement, saving both material and labor hours during installation.
With its leaner XLPE-insulated design, LAPP’s cable has a smaller diameter and tighter bend radius than armored TECK, making it ideal for retrofits, confined MCC cabinets, and robotic/automated cells.
