Is it permissible to use a plastic protective conduit?
LAPP isn't a newcomer to the world of cable protection. On the contrary, we have been active in this field since 1974!
Looking for a plastic protective conduit? Then you’re in the right place! Even if you are still not sure which materials you should use to assemble a shape-stable protective conduit system that meets the prevailing conditions, find out here about the benefits of plastic protective conduits and matching conduit glands (often also made of plastic).
It's no wonder that we can now name a versatile cable protection portfolio as our own: in the SILVYN® plastic protective conduit systems product segment, you will find everything from self-winding braided sleeves, to the shape-stable spiral protective conduit, right through to the highly flexible protective conduit for cable chain applications of all kinds for bundling, guiding and protecting cables against external influences.
Would basic information on cable protection and guiding systems helpful to you?
Flexible plastic protective cable conduits protect your cables and wires
In the plastics sector, choose from four product groups that have completely different properties and are therefore suitable for different application areas, such as:
- Cable protection against chemical, mechanical or thermal influences
- Outdoor cable protection
- Cable protection for moving applications
- Cable protection (depending on the material, e.g. against mechanical stress, abrasion, chemicals, UV radiation, dust and moisture)
- Cable bundling, cable guiding
- Pressure-resistant
- Bendable
- Flexible
- In some cases with special resistance
- Highly flexible for use in cable chains and other moving applications
- Compressible and flexible
- Protection against mechanical stress
- Liquid-tight
- Extra resistance
Ideal conduit glands for your plastic corrugated hose
For a functioning, i.e. protective and sealing protective cable system, you often also need a conduit gland so that the protective conduit can be reliably connected at the corresponding point.
Conduit glands with a wide range of properties are suitable for corrugated or smooth plastic conduits:
First of all, select
- the material: plastic (e.g. polyamide or polypropylene) or metal (e.g. brass),
- the connection thread: metric or PG,
- the connection: straight or angled,
- the IP protection class to be achieved in the protective cable system: IP 54 to IP 68.
Decide also whether certain functionalities are required, such as
- enhanced strain relief,
- UV-resistance,
- vibration protection for moving applications,
- rotating inserts for applications with torsional loads.
