The LAPP difference: high-quality materials and intelligent design
Uncompromising jacket material: PUR (polyurethane)
Due to its exceptional durability and remarkable "memory effect", we only use PUR for our cable sheaths. As a result, the spiral always returns to its original shape even after repeated stretching and contracting. In addition, PUR can withstand extreme temperatures, guaranteeing reliable performance in a wide range of environments.
Optimised conductor insulation: TPE-E and more
For conductor insulation, we primarily use TPE-E (thermoplastic polyester elastomer), which is known for its excellent dielectric properties and wide operating temperature range. Although PVC offers good dielectric properties, TPE-E impresses with its superior thermal performance. In some cases, PUR is also used for conductor insulation.
Unwavering flexibility: finely stranded copper conductors
The key to the flexibility of a spiral cable lies in the design of its conductors. That is why we use finely stranded copper conductors that are manufactured in accordance with VDE 0295 Class 6 standards. These are usually copper strands with a diameter of just 0.07 mm, which maximise the cable's bending and flexibility without causing fatigue.
Intelligent shielding design: overlapping for ultimate performance
Unlike braided shielding, our overlapping (or wrapped) shielding ensures maximum flexibility. This innovative design prevents the shielding from restricting the natural compression and expansion of the coil, maintaining its optimum performance and service life.
