Their work ranges from the receipt of the goods in logistics right up to the dispatch process. To this end, they need to communicate and cooperate with upstream and downstream operational areas. Mechatronics engineers work in the assembly and maintenance of complex machines, plants and systems for companies in mechanical and plant engineering, in the electrical and electronics industry, for service and maintenance companies, as well as for operators of production facilities in all sectors.

Mechatronics engineers (m/f/d) do not primarily focus on manufacturing mechanical parts or wiring circuits, but rather on integrating modularised and standardised components into systems of increasing complexity. The main focal points are understanding cause-and-effect relationships, functional and holistic system considerations, and the design of work processes and flows. This requires a network-minded approach as well as teamwork and coordination with upstream and downstream areas.
